Incorporating vintage pieces into modern decor is my favorite! It transforms a house into a home with oodles of character! I love to think about where a vintage piece came from, who it belonged to, and how they used it. Here is how I mix vintage pieces into my modern farmhouse!
I cook A LOT. So I knew that open shelving was a must, so that I could easily grab things as I was working.
Vintage looking large mason jars hold cereals, oats, sugar, and an array of flours.
I love how the vintage scales and enamel ware bring a farmhouse feel to the space!
The more modern aspects of the room consist of steel range hood, industrial inspired hanging cabinetry over the island, and then the blue cabinetry!
I love having pops of vintage goodies! Vintage inspired rack, adorned with vintage aprons! Antique stool and vintage French basket of flowers!
This vintage French grainsack is my newest addition and I’m just crazy about it! I’ve been thinking about hanging window treatments here for a while, but wasn’t loving anything. Then I came across this baby and thought, I wonder if that would work! It was Kismet!
The dining room is my antique hub! I wanted this room to feel intimate and romantic, but still stay true to the rustic, farmhouse vibe of our home.
I love how this modern console marries so beautifully with our family heirlooms, and romantic and industrial standing chandeliers! Sometimes you have to throw rules out the window and go with your gut!
Layering is a great way to mix old and new! It’s all about mixing different textures and sizes! You can never go wrong with layering dough bowls…never.
The staircase is an incredibly masculine feature in our home. I wanted to soften the entry, and used this potting table, vintage ice cream parlor chair, and vintage bucket with pops of more feminine colors.
In my dream world, I have all white furniture, but my reality is four kiddos and four dogs, so darker fabrics are a must! I love mixing different vintage inspired textiles, like this floral sofa!
This vintage red daybed belonged to my grandma Rosemary and it’s the perfect spot to curl up and read a book while sipping on a cup of jo!
We needed a blanket closet, but I’m not a huge fan of closets, so we had spot built-in to home this beautiful antique hutch!
I adore decorating kids rooms! There’s so much freedom to mix and match and bring your bebes personality into their room!
The dormitory is totally vintage inspired! This room is full of bright whites and dark woods. I love how these floral blanket really bring in that vintage feel!
With modern windows, and masculine square log siding, crisp white linen, and and feminine vintage touches really balance out the room!
I wanted to accentuate the views with lots of windows, but didn’t know how I could do that in a bathroom that calls for mirrors. And then it hit me! What if we had hanging mirrors? I love the modern farmhouse feel they bring, but also how the wood elements give a warm touch to this space! Adding things like this vintage bird bath, that I use as a jewelry holder, is another way to bring some vintage charm to a modern space.

It’s time to think outside the vase 😉 Add some serious charm with alternative…
Isn’t it the WORST when you buy beautiful, robust hydrangeas, only…
