I just love this time of year! So many gatherings with friends and family! I wanted to share a more laid back, cozy, and rustic tablescape with you all! Does anything punch up a winter gathering more than plaid? I recently found this vintage plaid blanket, and the colors were screaming my name, “Lucy Rose, you finally found me, take me home with you!” so obviously I HAD to 😉 This is an almost-outside-gathering set up in our screen porch. The weather has been fabulous, and with just the right amount of crispness in the air I thought it would be the perfect place to hold a get together!
When it comes to creating a table setting, I like to think of runners, placemats, and such as loose guidelines. A runner and a placemat are just fabric, so why wouldn’t a vintage flannel plaid blanket work?
The centerpiece is this super cool, vibrant red metal tray from Curtis Creation. I used two sage bushes, also from Curtis Creation, for a gorgeous green hue, and then some wood pillars that I set tea lights on to create warmth.
I am crazy about these vintage cod soda bottles. The colors vary, but add so much charm, and an amazing pop of color.
I like to add moss as a bottom layer of a tray, because it makes everything feel more organic, and layers are key to tray styling.
Using a bench on one side of the table is awesome for gatherings, because you can squeeze more people into a space and it makes sipping on coffee or cocoa after a meal that much more cozy.
Mixing casual cutlery and fancy vintage plates is unexpected and super fun!
To keep things from getting too much on a green/red note, I used glittery silver for the tree decorations!
A knit blanket adds big time to the cozy factor, plus is super nice to have if it gets chilly on the porch 🙂
Cinnamon scented pinecones smell soooooooo good, and is the perfect holiday scent! Plus they add so much texture, and another organic element to the mix!
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my very merry tablescape! xoxo lr
